The month of June means revival.
This time of year is a time when our countryside is showing off at its’ best. Roses are blooming, trees are abundant and new life is birthing all around us. A time to let it all in and replenish ourselves through our hearts. Our minds can be a relentless thought-flow built on past experiences that can prevent the human spirit coming alive at this time of year.
Why don’t we take this opportunity to birth ourselves this month ?! Human beings are amazing masterpieces. With the senses we draw in our world and its’ mystery through seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching it. Our hearts are where we feel and engage with whatever is happening and absorb everything from joy to the pain of suffering without judgement.
This is a time for us to tune into our hearts and listen for what it carries. Without our hearts our world becomes sinister, isolated and in solitude. Our hearts are concerned about who we are when we face outwards in the ever new conversations our senses have with what surrounds us. The heart breeds love and friendship. Let our minds fall into only that conversation with our hearts.
I dare us all to take a moment to engage with what this month is offering us. You can be in an office and look out of a window, you can be ill in bed and choose to listen once again to what touches you. June is offering us a new lightness that wants to enter our body and the relief of this will flood your heart. And goodness knows, you deserve it!
I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding. John O’Donohue. Poet Laureate of Ireland.
